"Gaia is across the river from Porto; a short ride to downtown but away from the throngs of tourists. The beach and beach restaurants are a five minute walk from the house. Joaquim was a wonderful host and the accommodations felt like a five star hotel. we would definitely stay here again."

"Stayed initially for three night but enjoyed it so much we had two more nights there. The apartments are well appointed and quite private. The rooms were spacious and well fitted with a jacuzzi in the bedroom. Quiet in grounds of large house on outskirts of Vila de Punhe about 4miles from Viana do Castelo. Easy access to the town. The staff were very nice and the owner was very helpful. The views were lovely over the area and vineyards. Everything worked well and had no problems."

"I was expecting, and have had, a far higher standard for the price. I wish I had taken more notice of the number of external photographs against interior shots as the only redeeming feature of this place is the outside area. The house itself is of a very low standard. Everything feels old. Not rustic, not traditional, not authentic, OLD! "The house and grounds are beautiful, family run. The proprietor arranged for a delicious supper prepared by her Mom as we arrived exhausted and late after a very hot day walking the Portuguese Camino. The room we stayed in was fabulous, spacious and pleasant with a lovely balcony shaded by a fruit tree. The ensuite bathroom was spacious also and very modern. "We absolutely loved our stay. It was cosy and clean at a good location near restaurants and bars. We barely needed to use any form of public transportation. Amenities were good - the bottle of wine was a nice touch. We were able to store our luggages after check out. Veronica who runs the place was super responsive with any questions we had. Overall no complaints. If there was one thing that we had to fault - it would be no full length mirrors. But this is a really minor point"
