"Upon arrival, we were told to open the large gates leading up to the driveway of the house. The gates were what I can only describe as something you would see at a 'haunted' house in really poor condition. Our first impressions were not great as the accommodation appeared very old and run down. As we approached the house, the ground were extremely unkempt: overgrown, unclean pool and the tennis court area had seen better days. As we opened the main door, we noticed the wallpaper in the hallway...

Alles war feucht, In der Dusche lief das Wasser nicht ab, Frühstück selbst für französische Verhältnisse minimal. Check-in sehr umständlich. Für eine Nacht war es gerade noch ok. Wir waren froh, das Zimmer wieder zu verlassen - Schade, wir hatten uns mehr versprochen. Immerhin: Lyon ist einen Zwischenstopp allemal wert."

Madame de Brosses is a remarkably gracious and friendly hostess, who looked after every detail and was helpful at every turn, including making restaurant recommendations and reservations. We look forward to returning to this wonderful and romantic chateau."

"The communication was difficult - the owner did phone once, but we were cut off. The property is untidy, pool is green and tennis court has had no use for years. Offered extra rooms, after the sleeping arrangements were terrible, we were then threatened to be billed extra to VRBO, somehow... The rooms had uncomfortable beds and barely a sheet on them, and towels were hard and ancient. Two cots were inadequate for adult use and the room had massive cobwebs everywhere. Breakfast was scant and...
