"Awesome place to stay for a few days in Kyoto as a foreigner. Close to some late-night food options, and nearby the train/bus station for easy access to the various activities in Kyoto. It was fun staying in a ryokan, the staff was extremely helpful, and the hotel itself was very clean and new-feeling. Would stay here again if I return to Kyoto."

Would be great for a value with larger families, but be prepared to understand the busses or get a taxi, not a ton to do in the immediate area.
