"First time staying at the Novotel in Edinburgh. The early check in link through Hotels .com gave us a scare when the Novotel answered a query by saying they couldn't find the reservation, however, the actual check in at the desk was quick and easy . Hotel reception is bright and airy, staff were friendly. The execution room was excellent and the breakfast was first class, loads of choice. One of the lifts was out of action which caused an increase in wait times but nothing excessive. Great location for Grassmarket and Old town attractions. I would stay at the hotel again, recommended. "

"Really enjoyed our stay at the Residence Inn. The suites(we had 2) were very spacious and comfortable. I was a bit surprised that the beds couldn’t be separated into twins, as there were clearly 2 single mattresses, topped by a queen mattress. Not every guest at the hotel is a couple, as in our case, a brother and sister( one slept on the sofa bed, which wasn’t as comfortable as the bed. The breakfast was very good, lots of hot and cold choices, great coffee. The breakfast area in the hotel is quite small and breakfast time tended to be chaotic, an issue which I’m sure other guests have commented on.The staff were so friendly and helpful. The location for us was great as it was close to the university, and easy walking distance to the many attractions of beautiful Edinburgh. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to friends and family👍👍😀"
