"It’s a grand old hotel with lovely ceilings in the foyer in particular. The receptionists are very pleasant and welcoming. I was in a very nicely refurbished room on the second floor. Very comfortable and clean, and a really good shower with very good water pressure. I slept well, and enjoyed being close to cafes and the railway station. All in all a really nice place to stay. It will be my first choice next time I travel to Timaru. "

"A very comfortable, roomy, clean stay with enough supplies to cook your own stovetop food. We loved relaxing on the balcony listening to birds in this quiet neighborhood an easy walk from downtown. Manager was very friendly."

"Very friendly check-in. The lady at reception was very nice and helpful with our questions being our first visit to Timaru. Walked to the lighthouse then to the penguins. Returned late at night and had an awesome sleep in a very comfortable warm bed. The room is not fancy but perfect for the price and you just need somewhere to sleep. "

"Dog friendly, had a unit beside a grassed area for toileting our boy. Unfortunately front unit on the main highway so traffic noise very loud even though the windows were double glazed. Very nice hosts, Donna couldn't have been more helpful."
