"The property was just as expected and perfect for us on our 18 day holiday in Christchurch. The weather was terrible, but the cottage was warm and comfortable. There was plenty of room for our things and we were able to entertain friends and family. Even though the surrounding area isn't inspiring, we were amazed how quiet it was, and the closeness of public transport was good. The downside could be parking, but we never had to park more than 50mtrs away. Ellen was really helpful and brought us...

"The bach was behind the main house - so very private. Immaculate and comfortable. Provided us with bread, eggs, milk, tea, etc. and travel snacks. Small library. Very bright, cozy and comfortable. A wonderful stay. Highly recommended."

"It was a nice way to end the day, long drive and then in quiet of outskirts of Christchurch. Lovely to have a robe to wear, comfortable, great to have Netflix, great shower, all amenities plus milk, bread, really enjoyed. Thanks."

"We were unaware it was only 2 bedrooms with 2 double beds... but worked just fine because the boys had sleeping bags on one bed. Dishwasher was not functioning safely with drawers unable to take weight so we chose to hand wash our dishes. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay."

We highly recommend this superb, unique property and we will come back longer next time. Make sure you book ahead for dinner at Hapuku Kitchen to the Friday Supper Club. It was the best time ever."

"Nice and spacious, bed was comfortable and it had a well equipped kitchen, the walk into town is about 25 minutes mostly along the river, so very pleasant, off street parking is a bonus, we enjoyed our stay. Main negative is, there was a horrible damp smell, we discovered mid week, if we kept the bathroom door shut, it was a lot better "

"We had a wonderful time during our two-night stay at the cottage. The hosts were vey kind and helpful. The accommodation was well-equipped, with a comfortable bed and a sofa bed. We enjoyed the covered porch, which was a lovely touch. The gardens were beautifully landscaped, offering delightful surprises while strolling along the path. "This was a Victorian Cottage, with beautiful gardens and a wonderful location. I loved staying in this very historic home. Far away from the maddening crowd, this was a peaceful place to spend 3 nights. The birds were our favorite entertainment. Charming Lyttleton is just a short drive down the waterfront road and Christchurch is a beautiful drive from the cottage. Lot's of room, comfortable eat-in kitchen. easy place to relax in. "
