"When traveling in this area you don’t have many options, either this place, or the hotels in the Mt. Cook village. The location is amazing and an easy walk to the lake for sunset or sunrise. We stayed for 1 night and it was OK. The room was full of flies, the front desk said they don’t bite, which probably is true, but still, the flies were everywhere. "Guy was a wonderful host, made a great fruitcake. The honor bar was nice after a day of riding bicycle. A convenient location to the Alps to Ocean cycle trail with very clean accommodations and a great breakfast."

"Lovely spot to relax for a few days. Views are amazing of Mount Cook. Food was excellent and the service and staff were so attentive to our needs. Great spot. Would highly recommend."

"The photos just don’t do this place justice! We stayed here with a large group over the new years period and the place was fantastic - good outdoor and indoor space, close to the beach, room for dogs and plenty of activities to do. Glen and Carla were awesome hosts and brought around local food daily for us to enjoy - generous and hospitable. We stayed for four days and wished for more time. A beautiful part of New Zealand!"

"Large open areas and large rooms which was great for the group. Super easy location and parking instructions. A few more kitchen pots etc would be good, but overall very relaxing stay. Would recommend."

"Without doubt this is the most luxurious experience I've ever had. My husband and I had two wonderful nights at Rippinvale Retreat in Hanmer Springs. From our arrival when there was home made baking, to wine and canapés at 6pm to chocolates on our pillow at night, our hosts Helen and John, couldn't have made us feel more welcome.
