"The Blue Bahia Resort is a small, beautiful place that is set among tropical gardens directly on the beach. The condos are efficient and have everything you need and more. Housekeeping everyday with fresh towels was a plus. The restaurant is great. Staff is excellent- very kind, helpful and courteous. They go out of their way to help, or ask if you need anything. "Only stayed one night in the econo room . The place was clean , staff/owner was nice. They had a great pool You would probably need a car to go most places or catch the local bus that I think is about $ 2 pp. on site restaurant had a good menu and a great cooking staff"

"Great location! Paradise for advanced snorkelling, I was using the stairs right in front on the hotel to access the reef. Amazing view of the sea and sunsets from my balcony. The manager of the hotel was so kind and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel March 2025 Renée "

"Where to begin…the room was dirty, old, broken. There was loud music till 2 am. The shower was a glorified tap. There was no warm water. The only thing we liked was the AC. I stayed in many hostel type places in the past. This one topped the list of the absolute worst. Do yourself a favor and do NOT stay here. "

"Puerta Azul is a quaint boutique style hotel with private little cabins. They have a nice restaurant and provide breakfast every morning. Everyone who works there is super nice and friendly. Location is quiet and away from the crowds of the West End. If you want to go anywhere, they provide transportation. The best part was snorkeling right off the dock. The reef was full of coral and fish. They also had free paddle boards and kayaks and you can rent snorkel equipment for $10 for the whole week....

Gorgeous property

"Gorgeous property. Loved staying at this resort. The lush, green natural landscaping with sandy paths and rope-lined wooden trails were a dream. Clean beach with incredible coral reefs and snorkeling right in front of the hotel, and the infinity pool was right on the beach. Perfect for a fun, relaxing family vacation! We stayed in a bungalow and really enjoyed the privacy and deck. Short but steep uphill climb to get to our specific bungalow, which we didn’t mind, but might not be for everyone. We booked our room with breakfast included, definitely worth it! The breakfast buffet had many delicious options. Service could be a bit slow, especially around the pool, but we found that to be the case at pretty much every restaurant on the island. My favorite meal at the resort was at the SeaCat. I ordered the garifuna soup and my husband had the fried fish. Both were delicious! The kids enjoyed angus burgers with fries. Favorite drink was definitely the piña colada."

Wonderful stay

"Fantastic place to stay, very clean and well maintained. Close to the reef, so you can swim out and snorkel right from the beach. The jewel of this property is the huge wrap around deck, a portion of which is underneath a large awning with fans and lights. We spent most of our time on that deck outside. The host is quick to respond to questions and made the stay very easy. We opted to rent a car to get around and that suited our vacation very well. There are two nice restaurants close by just a 5 min walk down the beach, but other wise a car is needed to get to groceries or other attractions. "

Terrible Property great manager

"The property manager Luis was great. The accommodations not so much. The pictures in the ad are old. The road in front was expanded and cemented and took a large chunk of the frontage, including the pictures staircase. The road out front is busy and extremely noisy. The place is in disrepair and we had cockroaches . The dust from construction is everywhere. As stated Luis does a great job with the resources he has. "

"We all had a lovely time. If we could have spent more time in front of the property in the water that would have been nice but it is in a bay and the boats going in and out of the marina next door are zipping through pretty quickly. The pool was great and the house itself was awesome. "

"I really enjoyed my stay at Guava Grove. The owners and the staff are excellent and made everyone feel welcome. It was nice to have a gathering spot at the pool to meet other travellers and expats. I liked that it was out of west end but super easy to catch a taxi to west end and a quick 5 minutes or so to get there. The restaurant at Guava was really handy to have and great food and there were also a couple of other great places to eat an easy walk down the beach where you can also catch an awesome sunset. Roatan is fantastic with great snorkeling or grabbing a beach chair in west bay to relax in a great atmosphere of locals and travellers. Beautiful beaches and crystal clear water plus a million other things to do. "
