"It's crucial to know what the Moxy is, and what it isn't. If you want a standard front-desk/concierge experience, with a lobby and porters, keep looking. If you want a dresser to store your clothes in, keep looking. If you want a room service menu and service, keep looking. If you want a bathtub, keep looking. If you want a mini-fridge or microwave in your room, keep looking. If you want a coffeemaker, keep looking. (There is a water cooker and instant coffee, however.) If you want a staffed restaurant, keep looking. If you want a pool, keep looking. However, if you want a hassle-free stay in a small, clean room with very little storage but also with a nice shower, plenty of linens, and super convenient for taxi, bus, walking, and Uber availability - this is a great choice. The staff are mostly what this Boomer would call kids. But these "kids" are efficient, friendly, and willing to go the extra mile. My stay was fantastic, and if I'm in the city again, I'll likely choose the Moxy. "

"Lovely modern style apartment in Old Town. Best of both worlds. Appliances worked well with clear instructions. Staff were super helpful. A small Tesco is nearby to get essentials. We walked to it from Waverley with our luggage. I recommend taking a taxi. Bus stops are nearby, as is the hop on, hop off if you want to tour around. Beautiful time to visit Edinburgh in May!"

"Shopping trip, ghost tour, did go to the castle but hadn't prebooked so couldn't get in. We went to the museum instead which was very good. "

"Great stay at this hotel. The location can’t be beat with the Edinburgh Castle right outside the windows in the front of the building, and the Grassmarket right outside. The hotel staff were lovely and answered all our questions. The room was comfortable and we very much appreciated the fan as there was no air conditioning (probably not normally needed but it was a very sunny day when we were there and the room got a bit toasty!) "
