"The staff was very welcoming. We loved the craft beer happy hour and our private outdoor bath. We also loved the local people we met eating outside of the hotel and shopping for pottery. We stayed for the proximity to Zao Aki resort. We didnt use it but there was a free shuttle for that. "

"Everything at this place was absolutely wonderful. The location was right beside the ski hill. The dinners and breakfast were incredible. The staff was very kind, the rooms were immaculate, and the choice of two Onsens - one outside and one inside was wonderful. Very quiet town - wonderfully relaxing vibe. Thank you so much!"

"Great ryokan near the main road of zao. Excellant staff, friendly service with awesome private and public onsens. Big family room was perfect to section off our teenager. Only issue was limited self catering options if you dont take the pricey breakfast/dinner option, single small lawsons in town"

"We did not use the onsen and we were only here for one night. Things to note… it’s very hard to travel around this area! No Ubers lol. We were able to get people to call us taxis so make sure to have cash! We loved our traditional room, I just wish for foreigners they had instructions. Other than that, we had a great stay :) very peaceful and beautiful area. The view of the mountain was awesome! "
