"The staff were kind and helpful. Rooms were spacious and cosy. Excellent experience!"

"This is a larger complex but it felt like a cozy ryokan throughout, especially in the rather large Japanese style room that I had. Staff speak little English but were friendly enough to work around my poor Japanese."

"Staff are very polite and helpful. Best part is the hotel is only 5 mins from JR Yamagata station, very convenient. There is also a bus terminal at the train station with buses to various attractions like Zao onsen etc. Only down part is the pillow was very flat, hence not comfortable to sleep on."

"The hotel was good. The room was big enough, and had a bathtub and fridge, and the other usual amenities. I didn't have a meal included, but I did buy one 1400 Yen breakfast buffet, and it was really good. The only 'negative' was the walking distance from the JR station, but that was how I picked it, also because it was cheaper to rent. The nearest grocer wasn't convenient either, even a further walk than the JR station to reach a MaxValu/AEON type store."

"Grand but somewhat dated. Room was larger than I expected. Bed comfortable. Bathroom acceptable and functional, though furnishings quite old. Friendly and helpful staff."
