Hotel Monterey Himeji
5/5 Excellent
"This is my favourite hotel in Himeji. While older and perhaps not as trendy as some newer properties, it is still exceptionally well-maintained and very comfortable. The public bath, while small, is very much appreciated.
The dining/breakfast room on the top floor is still quite elegant (french-style) with great views of Himeji Castle in the distant background.
The location is great, 5 minute walk from Himeji Stn and local buses. The only and very minor negative might be that the entrances can be a little bit confusing - there are at least three different entrances, each involving taking elevators to get to the lobby - but you will get used to it!
Highly recommended."
