"We stayed two weeks at this property and very much enjoyed it. The cottage is near the Belfast rail trail and we walked on this every day. We liked that the location felt very private yet it was only about a mile walk on the rail trail to Belfast harbor. "We loved our stay at the schoolhouse. The exposed beams and wood were beautiful. The owners really go out of their way to add little details and touches. The bed was very comfortable. The scenery was serene and very quiet. Far enough away from the town for quiet and privacy but still short or doable drives to every where we needed to go. We were provided with all the important details before arriving as to locations for grocery and gas. We loved our stay!"

"It was a cute place with a well stocked kitchen (you won't need to bring coffee), but the freezer was very tiny and did not freeze all the way. If you usually use ice for drinks, get some in town and keep in the available cooler. The bathroom is on a different floor than the bedrooms so be aware of that. We couldn't figure out the heat and sadly realized I didn't have a way of calling the owner so I called VRBO. Make sure you get his phone number before you leave since too many things can go...

"The cottage worked out well for us in Maine. Nice and quiet, good location, easy to get around. The gardens needed some attention and the lighting could be better in the kitchen (we are not fans of overhead fluorescents). Some foil, measuring cups and olive oil would be great too. "This rental was clean and the perfect size. The view out back is breathtaking. This rental showcases all of the natural beauty that Maine is famous for. The air conditioning was cold and the water in the shower was hot. All linens were crisp and white. The driveway was a challenge to navigate, however it is manageable. We hope to stay here again."

"We knew we picked well when Carol and Les greeted us with warmth and openness. Carol kept us well fed with organic vegetables from the garden which made for many delightful dinners. "Rose Cottage fully lived up to the online description. It's in a great setting, quiet with a stunning water view. Great sleeping in the cool sea air. Kitchen is pretty well equipped as short-term rentals go, so you can cook meals there. The nearby town of Belfast offers everything you need by way of shopping and restaurants. Owner was prompt and helpful in getting one minor problem (empty propane tanks) resolved. "
