"The Sanctuary is quiet, peaceful and very much a sanctuary. The property was beautifully presented with a fantastic outdoor area (even a putting green) to relax and the interior was very well laid out, clean with quality inclusions in the kitchen, lounge, bedroom and bathroom very much appreciated. Very close to Avalon Beach and a further short walk to Avalon's shops, it's an ideal place to relax and explore the Avalon area. Don't forget to try the excellent Oliver's Pies nearby. "This unique property offers the opportunity to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and to reconnect with nature and your someone special! The cottage is located down a long flight of stairs (however there is a fun travelator to help with the bags and to save your legs!). The cottage offers a single room with a large bed, bar fridge, basic tea and coffee making facilities and a large ensuite. Whilst there's no TV you are more than spoilt with a large spa overlooking a picturesque valley, a fire pit (BYO fire wood), an outdoor hot shower and a large sun deck complete with banana lounges and bean bags. Whilst the cottage backs onto the host's property your privacy is guaranteed by Lynne who is there to help with any issues you may encounter. We decided to venture out and explore the area and discovered a great Surf Life Saving Club at Whale Beach and continued to the famous Palm Beach for lunch. Overall we were very satisfied with our stay and would recommend to anyone looking to switch off and breathe in this private, intimate spa cottage"

"We enjoyed the area and the views, however the house itself was not very clean and needed a lot of maintenance. Although it was set amongst the trees and we had expected a few leaves to fall down, it had obviously not been inspected before our stay. The outside deck had spectacular views but it was spoilt because the railings were covered in spider webs and the pergola area/roof was covered in leaves, sticks and in parts mould. The outside furniture was very tired along with some of the furnishings inside. The beds were comfortable and clean but there was mould in the bathroom and shower areas and there were very limited toiletries supplied for the guests who had travelled from the UK for a family wedding. This was such a shame and we were very disappointed because we had paid the premium rate for the area and it had had some great reviews online. We felt this house was far too expensive given the condition the property was in when we arrived. It looked like nobody had been there for months and that they had not inspected the property previously to ensure that it was in good condition for our stay. The driveway was extremely steep with access for other houses on the way up the hill. This made the property very inconvenient to access as we had four cars in the driveway. This would not have worried us had the spider webs outside been cleared away, especially for when we arrived home in the dark. Unfortunately, we were all very disappointed and will not be back again."

"It was lovely, good location. Just a few thoughts that will be helpful. Vents need cleaning, floor drains in bathrooms. Dishwasher racks all askew and we could not fix it. The window sill in mail bedroom, one above bed need cleaning. It might be time for a new coffee maker. Donna"
