"Bare bones, but the room was clean and the bed comfortable. There was bottled water in the room and a hot shower (which in Costa Rica is not always a given). I was pleased, too, that they did come pick me up at the airport even though my plane arrived after stated shuttle hours. "

"I made a reservation, and when the date came by, I contact them via text to receive check-in instructions, and they told me they did not had rooms for me. I ask for a refund, and they ghosted me. I highly suggest looking for other places"

"Great place to stay if you arrive late or are heading to airport early, as it’s only 5min drive. The owner can arrange transport to airport for 15$. The house was very clean and exactly as described, would defiantly stay again."

"We loved this little spot! It was a great place to land after our flight. Very close to downtown Alajuela, which meant that we could walk out our door in the morning and find a nice cafe and good food at the Central Market. Our only challenge was that the traffic was quite loud overnight; my partner had a hard time sleeping, even with the provided earplugs. I recommend this location for sure for heavy sleepers."

"This location is convenient for places to eat, shop, and close to the airport. Check-in is easy! The hosts are responsive. While in an urbanized neighborhood, the apartment looks out over a field with cows and trees - so you have a nice piece of the country at the same time. 3 - 5 minute walk to City Mall. Safe neighborhood and a very safe compound."

"Nice property, secure. It has a power gate that opens to let you in and out of the property so on arrival there's a bit of a kerfuffle. Let the owner know when you are arriving I guess. Nice, clean, modern space. Owners/Security were very good. On the downside you are driving everywhere, nothing close. I run, but the street is busy with no sidewalks so not good for that. We picked the place because it had a washer and dryer. The washer was a small apartment wash/spin thing that was hard...

"I arrived early on a Tuesday after flight delays. The place was nice- a lot of construction going on- but nice. Pool looked like it needed a shock but it’s not yet hot enough. Walked into town and enjoyed good food at La casa de Layla. The host was nice. I missed breakfast because I was sleeping soundly. Comfy spot to get adjusted to Tico life. "

"Loved the very close proximity to the airport for our early morning flight. Clean, cute and comfortable. We struggled with the payment system, but that was a phone service issue on our end. Would have been easier if we could've paid in the Expedia app. The owner was very accommodating though and met us so we could pay with cash. Thank you!"

"The property had a nice view during a day and especially at night. Feeling the breeze flow through the rooms was very relaxing."

"Large, clean, and has a wonderful patio (with now mature landscaping and covered patio unlike online photo). Hosts are on-site and very helpful and responsive, with lots of info and recommendations for local resources. We enjoyed watching the birds, butterflies, and other wildlife while relaxing on the patio. Close to San Ramon, a beautiful little city, and perfect weather. "A great location and the condo is well designed. It just needs a bit of TLC to earn a top rating. Some of the renovations have been done unprofessionally with paint spills and other sub-grade workmanship. The kitchen could be equipped somewhat better, also. "

"I’ve stayed here many times, the experience is always excellent. The staff is very professional and accommodating. Especially at the breakfast buffet, they are Muy bien! The property is in a very safe area of San Jose, Escazu. There’s two pools and a fully equipped exercise room. I highly recommend this place. "

"I loved staying at this hotel. The grounds and plantings are gorgeous, the pools feel totally luxurious and all the public spaces feel spacious, clean and elegant. They offer free airport transfers and one can pick up and drop off a rental car right at the hotel, how convenient is that.!!! My room was just fine. I had requested a refrigerator and got one. Beds were comfortable and room was spacious, and I thought great for the price. My granddaughters loved the pools. I plan on staying here again when i have to leave Costa Rica by air. The only complaint is the restaurant ran out of red wine, and 2 of the dishes i wanted to order. The cleaning staff for my room were exceptionally gracious, friendly and kind. I also had a dental problem while i was there and was able to walk to the “Dental Smile Center”, which did a great job helping me. It is also walking distance to a fresh market grocery store, and it was easy to get to downtown San Jose via uber. Yes the hotel is older, but that’s why the plantings are so nice. They even have a garden with a mango tree. The gym is one of the best equipped i have run into in a hotel. So 5 stars"
