"I gave 4 stars on cleanliness due to hallway floors being very dirty. No white socks remained. Communications were horrible due to phone being very static filled. Master bedroom lamp was broken. Exchanged it with one from another bedroom. TV remote controls need new batteries. Otherwise, very nice place."

"We made a great choice in choosing the Riverfront Retreat for our Thanksgiving celebration. The large dining table fit our group and its close proximity to the kitchen made serving and cleanup a breeze. One bedroom is set apart from the others which worked perfectly for one couple who ducked out at 5am to catch a flight out of Dulles (about an hours drive) without disturbing others in the group. We enjoyed hiking in Seven Bends State Park and even toured the Shenandoah Caverns (a short drive)....

The great room with huge fireplace and view of the Blue Ridge is perfect for hanging out in the winder, and the big and well-equipped kitchen is excellent for big family dinners.This time, a big winder storm presented some winter challenges, and the host did a great job of making things right. "Our weekend was perfect! We loved the view and the hike to the waterfall was so peaceful (smaller than anticipated when we got there, but still beautiful). The house was decorated to be so homey and comfortable with lots of games to choose from when we wanted a break from the TV. We were snowed in but felt so comfortable the whole weekend! "Hubby and I were in town for a wedding with our 21 year old son. We were walking distance from some great local stops and just a short drive from anything we needed and plenty to do. Next trip we’d like to take advantage of hiking options we didn’t have time for this trip. Sooooo much better than a hotel, this place is loaded with character and comfort touches a plenty and provided everyone a nice balance of privacy and togetherness! Great stay!"

Nina the owner was so thoughtful, checking on us, suggesting a good place for our car during the storm so that we wouldn’t get stuck when it came time to go home, even cleaning our car off for us! That was above and beyond—thank you, Nina. The cabin is as pictured and well appointed. We plan to return here. "
