"This small quirky little Bach was clean and had a well stocked kitchen. Very close to town, only a 5 minute drive from the little shops and from the harbour where you can get on numerous tours. Only complaint was that we had no communication with the owner. Checkin instructions on the app worked well. Didn’t know what to do with garbage or dirty towels. So we just left them. Regardless would recommend this as a place to stay during your visit to Paihia. "

First is the very steep and dark drive way. I like property with easy access. This was not easy access. Once you got to the top of the drive you have to do a 3 point turn to be able to leave. "This is a great spot. It's about 5 minutes from the Opua Ferry and less than 10 from Russell. It's super remote and quiet. Taking our suburban kids (9 and 4) was fantastic. There is a little boat shed at the bottom of the hill and access to a beach which my older kid loved exploring. The beach itself is quite rocky and full of oyster shells so not recommended for swimming but Long Beach near Russell is amazing and only a short drive away.
