"A lovely, clean and well-cared for cabin in a beautiful setting - our little family truly enjoyed being here. We spent the sunshiny days hiking along the Tanawha trail, out to Hebron Falls (a perfect family ‘playground’), and the short but sweet Green Knob loop. All of these were a a quick and lovely 15’ drive from the cabin.The cabin was well-stocked w firewood and we truly enjoyed a blazing fireplace on the colder nights. The deck and gazebo are extraordinary, and the creek flowing underneath...

"We would definitely come back and rent this place again. It was just as listed. It was just a short walk to the slopes and a great location if you have a group that wants to come and go at different times to ski. The only negative thing I have to say is the room with the bunkbeds was not comfortable. My sons said it was like sleeping on the floor. But even with that said we would still come back. Maybe just bring air mattress next time Everything else was perfect and we had a great time. "

"This was a very nice home to spend Christmas. Access from the main road is good and it is easy to get to. The house is a nice size and has a nice large dining room to have family meals together. It is a very cozy warm home with a nice large fenced in yard. One of the neighbors told us it was once the mayors home. I would stay here again. "

Everything was walking distance for us in Banner Elk’s charming downtown area. There was even a level 2 EV charger conveniently located around the corner. We plugged in, walked home, and picked up our car at 100% charge the following morning for our departure. Sugar Mountain was a hop skip and a jump away. It really felt like home away...
