"This is a charming hotel with a smart, considerate staff. The public areas have nostalgic, turn of the century feel, but are clean and well-kept. One notable exception: the carpet in the elevator is threadbare and often littered with smuts. The neighborhood is a bit rough, but we never had any trouble. The in-house Polar Bar is a delight with excellent food and drink. "

"If you were expecting the latest and most modern amenities in a historic building, this might be one to pass on. However, for us the value and level of service were outstanding. The staff were polite and helpful, providing assistance and supplying forgotten toiletries. Breakfast was well supplied with variety and good quality. The location is right on the water, with close proximity to all the Pioneer Square attractions and other downtown attractions. All of those things combined with an extremely reasonable price would lead me to stay here again. The only downside is the cost of parking. I would prefer to have that cost included with the initial booking to better evaluate total cost of staying. That being said, the parking was on the property and both secure and private."
