"We’ve been on the road in Southeast Asia for five weeks and have stayed in many sweet hotels: none, however, was any sweeter than Vedana. Set on a lovely lagoon off the sea, it is as quiet and peaceful as a resort can be. As the rooms and villas are spread along a 3 km tree-lined lane that borders the lagoon, you can get around by electric cart or the free bikes that are available on the side of the route. The copious breakfast buffet came with the (very reasonable) room rate, and the dinner options were many and delicious. The smart and uber-helpful Cam, who was our assigned manager, took great care of us, upgrading us to a large and beautifully appointed villa, and organizing our complimentary spa treatments and our ride to the airport. Don’t miss the aviary, where we saw parrots and macaws and held month-old baby lorikeets! "

"Hotel is well located. We arrived very early so rooms not ready but you could leave your luggage and have a shower. Twin rooms were clean with all things you would need. Breakfast was a choice of eggs, fruit, juice and coffee, all good. The staff were a delight, always eager to help and very kind. A great little hotel for the money. Thank you all"

"This historic hotel has a lot of character, and it is in a great location close to the river and within walking distance of the Imperial City. I stayed for three nights in a large room with a firm but comfortable bed and good aircon. Breakfast is outdoors, even when it is raining, and includes a wide selection of food, including eggs cooked to order, but limited other western options. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It offers excellent value and I would stay here again."
