"Second time saying here, and hopefully not the last. Really well located for exploring Cumbria and Hadrians Wall destinations. AD122 bus which takes in those locations stops right outside hotel. Really friendly staff, great breakfast, super clean rooms. Older building so expect some sloping floors and walls off-plumb. Bedrooms are upstairs with no lift, but not a problem for us. Great value, with bar serving goid food and real ale. Can’t ask for much more. "

"Excellent value for money. The inclusive breakfast was fantastic. Staff were really friendly. The location was great for the town centre and a lovely riverside walk just a few minutes away. Wi-fi worked really well and free parking at the rear of the hotel was much appreciated. "

"Large room, comfortable bed, friendly staff. Food was nice but I was a bit surprised to find that the vegetarian main (possibly vegan, in fact) was more expensive than the meat options, even though the ingredients must have been much cheaper"

"The hotel was great value for the price that we paid. The room was small, but spotlessly clean. The staff were great, really friendly and welcoming. We had the vegetarian breakfast in the morning which we thoroughly enjoyed, so much so that we returned mid afternoon to the hotel for coffee and cake which was delicious. "
