"I was attending 2 games at Yankee Stadium and needed a hotel that wouldn’t break the bank. The hotel is less than a 5 minute walk from the 4 Subway and about a 15-20 minute walk from the stadium. The property sits on a busy street, but I found no issue with excessive street noise. The front desk staff was incredibly friendly, the free breakfast was a nice way to start the day, and the room was clean and did not feel cramped. Clientele seemed to be largely those visiting from out of the country, though it was nice to see other fans there following the home team to NYC. Traveling from the Bronx to Manhattan was a piece of cake. I would definitely consider this property again. "

"The Historic Lucerne feels like a European Hotel - is not a chain. I enjoy staying in a smaller place, in a real neighborhood. As an Art, culture and museum person, the location is great, the staff is wonderful, as is the Nice/Matin restaurant located in the building."
