"My family stayed here for a short winter holiday. The house is older, but very well maintained. Kitchen and bathrooms clean and well stocked. The location on the lake is ideal. More than adequate room around the pool table for a fun game. Highly recommend"

"We watched sunsets and paddled kayaks when at the house. Daily we hiked trails at Garden of the Gods, Ferne Cliffe, and Giant City. House was roomy. We were fine with 1 bath because only 3 of us.Host was great."

"The house was large enough for me and my 2 brothers and some of our kids to stay. The 3 bedrooms on the main level was nice to each have a room for the adult couples. The spiral staircase to the lower level was a little small so you should definitely unload all kitchen items (which is on the lower level around the stairs to the back, the lights and dining table out back were nice. We ate most of our meals outside since it was so nice. the lake was not really inviting and pretty mucked but the...

"This house was centrally located for us to visit a plethora of natural sites in the western/central portion of the Shawnee National Forest. It was wonderful coming home from long days of hiking to a fully stocked kitchen to make or heat our dinners, and to relax comfortably for the evening. The countryside setting was perfect for us to feel right at home. "

The house is stocked with everything you could possibly need from cooking supplies to first aide. Trey is a gracious host and readily available to address any questions or concerns. "The Tinley House was perfect for our long weekend in the Shawnee National Forest. The house was a cozy little stay. Beds were comfortable, but a little low to the floor. Convenient to Garden of the Gods, but a bit further from the Wine Trail. A nice alternative to staying in a motel."
