"We have just returned from a short break to Madeira and had a lovely stay. John the owner is a lovely gentleman and his son Alberto made us very welcome. The hotel is very central and only a five minute walk to the cable car, buses and restaurants. Although the hotel is dated decor wise it is spotlessly clean. We had the breakfast and the Madeira breakfast rolls are delicious, the breakfast is great value. We will return to this hotel. Thanks John and your family for a lovely trip! "

"A bit of a mixed review. I could not contact the hotel via email or the Expedia app (quintabelasaotiago.com is not the domain name for the hotel email) prior to arrival. some of the front desk staff (Nadia) are excellent as is Sa in the restaurant but others are surly and disinterested. We asked to borrow an iron and were told at the front desk that we would have to pay - then it never turned up since the only way to get clothes ironed is to use the laundry service. We asked for a replacement...

"When we arrived at Quinta Bela Santiago the hotel was overbooked . Expedia is selling this hotel to a tour operator so with no room despite paying in Advance we ended up at Quinta Bela Vistas Palace . The hotel was splendid into a very quiet area of Funchal . I was upset as we wanted to be in town but realised the staff at the reception were super nice and the breakfast staff too . Sadly no restaurant opens in this hotel but we had a lovely stay in Madeira thank you. "

"We were at no.55, which initially i was a bit concerned about. However it was lovely, we had a large room at the front. Noisy in Fri night but ok for the rest of the time. You are right in the old town afterall!"
