"We had a wonderful Winter Weekend away at this property. It felt very spacious with two families (4 adults and three children ages 3-8). The cabin is very beautiful and has so much character. We loved playing games and hanging out inside by the fire. The woods surround the cabin, and a path is directly next to it, which lead us to the creek and lake where we created our only hockey rink. Lots of animal prints to explore in the snow! We had a wonderful time and hope to be back next year!"

"A friend and I planned a weekend of outdoor winter hiking. This was a great place to make home base. Lots of space, clean, plenty of places to eat nearby, hot water, good shower pressure, tv reception, large table, chairs on small patio, washer and dryer. We didn’t need to use all of it, but if we had a longer stay or came with our family this would accommodate everyone. "

The deck that extends along the length of the home is a perfect perch for watching the prolific bird and waterfowl life and the barge traffic that regularly passes by. "Perfect place to get away and relax and joy the beautiful timber around."

"This place looked great in the photos and we were stunned when it actually looked better in-person. We were three families with 5 kids among us and if was plenty of space. Every room was thoughtfully decorated and there is a ton of stuff to do in the house (hot tub, pool table, secret room, arcade games, cotton candy machine, on and on). "We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful rustic modern cabin. The location was perfect with close access to downtown Galena but had an isolated feel tucked into the woods. The beds were very comfortable and the place smelled amazing! Would highly recommend for a couple or family of 4. "

"I enjoy my twins birthday vacation but it was too dark traveling from the pool back to my room. I would love it if was lighted along the edge of the roads. I almost got into a car accident because someone came speeding towards us and it was so dark we could barely see the roads."

"The house was absolutely perfect. We stayed for a long weekend over the 4th of July holiday with three other families. We were close enough to amenities if/when we needed them, but had absolutely no reasons to leave the property - so much to do for everyone. The owner was wonderful to engage with, he was even able to supply wheelchair ramps to make the home more assessable for someone in our group who has a disability. We are already talking about booking again next year!"
