"Vacationed with husband, adult children, spouses and 4 grandchildren under 6. Had a wonderful time. House is clean, very well-equipped, and spacious. 2-minute drive to gorgeous Scarborough beach. It takes 24-36 hours to get a beach parking pass, so apply before you go. Owner/property manager very responsive. House is set back far enough from Ocean Rd (which is not very busy anyway) that traffic was not a concern. Big windows, lots of natural light. We have already made a reservation for next...

"My husband and I had a beautiful stay in Gertrude for two nights. The property is beautiful and feels secluded but is close and convenient to everything you need. The only thing to note is that the only cooking facilities are a small grill and a kettle for tea/coffee. Also a mini fridge. All worked perfectly, but good to know for planning!"

"Big house with room for lots of people adults and kids. Great location on lake basically all by yourself. We kayaked across the lake and hiked around it. Many other hiking trails in the area. Great history in all directions. Easy access to skiing and the ocean. "

"An absolutely wonderful property. Tastefully decorated, fully stocked, and comfortable beds. Don't let the outside fool you. This is quite spacious inside with three generous bedrooms on the main floor and a fourth in the finished basement. Plenty of room for the entire family. The interior of the home looks like the pictures on the listing! Not like many properties where the picturres were taken years ago and the current state is in need of repair and updating. Kudos to Michael on this...

"Property was just how described. Short drive to beach. Loved that you were able to walk to grab a bite or have a drink. Owner was very responsive when we had a problem with the ac. It was looked into and fixed the same day. Thanks Zac!"

"I stayed at this property during a late Fall work trip to Newport. I didn’t get to enjoy the pool but I can see how amazing it would be to stay here in the summer. Everything was just as expected. Getting in was super easy. Edward even mailed a package back to me that arrived after my departure. Very fast communication. I would love to try to snag this gem for Newport Folk Fest."

"This property suited our needs very well. There was plenty of space for us and we used all facets of the rental, from the back deck, to the dock, to the fire pit, to the living room, to the kitchen! The kitchen had everything we needed, including a dishwasher. There was even a washer and dryer to do laundry! The view in the morning, with the mist rising over the lake and the waterfowl gliding quietly in front of us as we sat on the dock with our morning coffee was splendid! The owner checked in...

"It was a GREAT location, one of only two hotels on Ocean Drive. the grounds were amazing. The building is falling apart a little, there is deferred maintenance, but the room was clean, the staff was Wonderful. we had a view of the ocean, the hot tub was hot, the coffee and breakfast muffins were great. It is what it is and there is SO much to see in Newport that you shouldnt be spending much time in the room. "
