"Rooms were very clean and adequate. Rooms warm during a cold January stay. Cooked breakfast was great. Hostess Caroline was a delight. Flat 10 minute walk to city gate (see photo). So no need to park closer unless you have a walking disability. Very desirable location. The only thing that would have made it better was to let customers know in advance that parking is £12.50 @ night. No nearby free parking in sight. Don’t hesitate to stay here. "

"There was a lot of communication via owner texts prior to trip and during ..instructions for parking & payment & how to obtain keys. Stayed in the room in the eves which is very height restricted and you’re very conscious of this throughout the night scared to get up in the night incase you bump your head! Was really disappointed that breakfast wasn’t available!!! Thought it was a B & B??? The host Kim is very friendly and obliging and the accommodation is spotlessly clean and parking is free...

"Perfect location just a short bus ride into York. Jack & Ellie are the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Tea & coffee facilities available in the room which was very comfortable. Breakfast is a help yourself but Jack is on hand if you need anything. Fresh fruit and yogurts, cereals, juice etc are available. Jack recommended places to eat, which were absolutely spot on. Food in all recommended places was excellent. This is a little gem of a place to stay, while not in the city centre...
