"We stayed in the private apartment, which was lovely. The fireplace is a very nice touch and the unit is well equipped with a kitchen and some fun retro touches (Pac-Man game and console, record player with records). The street is very noisy, but that is true with most places in the area. I wore ear plugs every night. The beds weren’t the most comfortable either. Staff was great though and the daily breakfast was nice. "

"Hotel Cipreses has a great location and was wonderful for our 1-night stay in November, extra convenient to Santa Elena Cloud Forest and Selvatura Park. "The staff and service are wonderful. We have seen wildlife around the property including a coati, armadillo and a monkey! The location is up a hill/mountain so we tend to drive rather than walk into town. Breakfast here and all our meals in town at recommended spots have been great! The room is very clean but dated and the bathroom could use an upgrade. Otherwise, I’d give it 5 stars!"

"Not the smoothest of steep roads up the hill but well worth it when you get there. Takes about ten minutes off the main road so not handy if you are heading in and out all the time but so secluded and quiet when you are there. The view alone is worth the effort. The spacious room was more than adequate. "
