"This was a "blow the budget" trip for me and I was not disappointed. The hotel is built into caves and has fantastic views of the city and over the ford (you can walk over). My room (a cave in itself) was huge, a large jacuzzi in the centre (would likely accommodate 4 people) and a modern wet room at rear, decor and lighting was perfect. "Since the first night, the air conditioning system was broken so when we turned it on it started leaking. There was a lot of water on the floor after only short use. The landlord didn’t send plumber to fix it so we had to mop the floor every morning after 3 nights the plumber fixed and Mario did not keep his words to move us to other rooms. "Had an amazing stay staff went over and above to help with a recommendation for local restaurants etc . The manager Alessandro was on site checking with guests to ensure they were ok. Only negative being off season the breakfast service could be slow ( maybe better to have coffee machines rather than individual orders) . Many Thanks for a wonderful week. "

"Very spacious, comfortable rooms. Bathrooms need updating though. The one issue we had is the steepness of the stairs down to the hotel on arrival. Breakfast was typically Italian - mostly sweet. The breakfast room has a view not to be missed. The staff were very friendly & welcoming. "

"The property was a beautiful. Cypress tree driveway, excellent pool, very nicely finished clean rooms & bathroom. The chef was on the whole very good. Located within 10km of Matera but in a quiet rural setting. The staff. Anna who served breakfast & checkout was excellent. The rest of the staff are either poorly managed and demoralised or should not be in a hospitality role. Checkin person was rude and didn’t make you feel welcome. Couldn’t really be bothered.
