We had the most incredible stay at Pianelle Resort. It was nothing short of magical.. Matera is a very special and unique place and Pianelle Resort made it even more extraordinary in every way -from the lovingly preserved, stylishly beautiful and thoughtfully contemporary hotel design and architecture to outstanding hotel staffs, namely Saverio, Christian, Rocco, Linda and another breakfast staff whose name slipped my mind. They are most hospitable, knowledgeable, patient, warm, thoughtful and helpful during our stay. The beautiful and thoughtfully designed Pianelle Resort and its amazing staffs makes for a destination in itself.

Matera is a very nice town. Pianelli has great location and great rooms. The rooms are well furnished and have cave style. This is second stay in Pianelli in 2vyears.

Absolutely wonderful hotel. Great location with a beautiful view. We stayed in the deluxe double room which was very spacious and although modern still maintained the authentic cave atmosphere. Breakfast was good. If driving, I would recommend the private secured parking deck option provided with the shuttle to the hotel. Well worth the 40 euros. Would recommend this hotel to anyone and would definitely stay here again!

Fabulous, beautifully designed property at the heart of the town. Their garage and transport option was great - and the staff was lovely. The rooms and the public rooms are thoughtfully designed by someone with great taste. I particularly loved my room with the cave details. It was charming and very comfortable. The breakfast was amazing ands the staff was charming. Highly reccommend.

WOW! This resort is simply stunning! Right in the heart of Matera, close to amazing dining, and very walkable through the streets. The hotel is very comfortable, stylish and you get a room in the rock! Blown away with the high level of finish, great air con and friendly staff.

Well, it started off on the wrong footing, a mix up on the room type and single bed vs double bed. But this was quickly resolved via a gentleman called Rocco. Once i got settled in my wonderful cave dwelling with wonderful waterfall shower, i was right at home. The staff at this resort were all smiles and extremely helpful and accommodating. I couldn't fault any of them. I will single out Domenico and Bea and the head of housekeeping Asia as highlights of my comfortable stay. Asia's work along with her team in keeping your room fresh and tidy made my stay an absolute pleasure. All staff have beautiful welcoming smiles and were always happy to help. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation. The breakfast was top notch and very varied with beautiful fresh fruit and home baked cakes and eggs how you like them on request and freshly squeezed organge juice. I would love to stay again.
