Rooms have a small refrigerator and sink, and there is plenty of closet space (plus a strong box so you can lock up your passport, laptop, etc.) The hotel is centrally located in Montevideo’s historical downtown, with plenty of restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance to enjoy). Most importantly, Smart Hotel has a very professional and efficient staff, from the managers to the lobby attendants to the restaurant and cleaning staff. I highly recommend this hotel. In fact, I’m headed back there in early April."

"The Casablanca Hotel has a very collegial staff who take a lot of pride in the property. The hotel has a dining area with a microwave and an electric kettle that makes breakfast easy, and a spot where you can make a cup of coffee when you want. I was especially impressed with the housekeeping staff. Everyone spoke to this 73 old solo traveler and made me feel welcome. This is a quiet hotel in the middle of everything like fruit vendors, bakeries, and walks to La Rambla de Montevideo, and the Plaza de Independencia. I even was able to take the public bus back and forth to the airport. The Casablanca will be a favorite memory. John from Albuquerque."
