"The best thing about this property is the location. It is a 2 minute walk to checkpoint Charlie, which is on a Main Street (Frederick strasse). I picked this so that I could walk out the door, grab breakfast at McDonald’s and then onto the big red bus. It went perfectly. At night it’s a little walk down Frederick Strasse to restaurants. The room was clean and adequate. If I was to make any complaint it would be that the pull out couch was uncomfortable but that’s why a 20 year old slept on it...

"Overall, I really like the hotel, the location next to the train station and the view of the German 'Regierungsbezirk', as well as the rooms, the sauna and the bar. This time I was disappointed about the lack of VIP recognition, problems with parking (the garage of the Steigenberger was full) and an annoying sound in my room that I reported. But the staff was very nice, though they did not manage to get a technician to come until the second day (sound went away for a few hours but came back)....

"Rooms felt like you were literally on a ship. Very small and with NO AC. We were forced to sleep with the window open all night. Pillows (1 per person) were empty sacks and the bed had 2 small comforters. The bathroom had minimal toiletries. There was a mini fridge but the inside light did not turn off and was brighter than any of the lights in the room. Breakfast was the best part. I was under the impression that I booked using my VIP status but the hotel didn't offer any perks. "
