"Bellavista Cloud Forest Reserve and Lodge is an amazing place to stay. They have extremely knowledgeable birding and wildlife guides and the people who work there are super nice. The food is great, although the options are limited. The rooms are small, but clean and comfortable. Ours looked out into the cloud forest. Don't expect a luxury experience. This is a fairly remote location that is ideal for nature lovers and particularly birders. I would recommend getting a package if you go that...

"I enjoyed a two night stay here after traveling from Quito. We arrived late at night and they were very accommodating. I enjoyed the charm and greenery of this place. Sara was friendly and provided us with a delicious homemade breakfast in outside in their garden. I highly recommend this place. "

"Incredible. Such a wonderful place to stay in the Mindo area. Really tucked away in the forest but only a 20-25min walk or $3 cab to the town. We stayed in the upper level of the lodge which was wonderfully positioned to watch the birds. Excellent service really recommend. "

"This place is really, really remote. You eat what they have, you do what they offer, etc. No roaming about looking for restaurants, shops, etc. Power issues meant no internet most of the time and I had to pay cash ($1500) for the stay and the spa treatments. Staff is perfect and brought tea to my room when i felt ill. Swimming pool and view is amazing "
