"I already submitted a review, then came back and stayed one more night. The room had a dehumidifier in it. For good reason. A lot of moisture and smelled like mildew. It was cold so we grabbed a blanket from the closet. So stinky with mildew. This room was 108, our previous room was 816, no mildew or complaints. Don’t expect a spa treatment, don’t think too many people order them and when I wanted a facial, they tried to get their staff to work… no takers. "

"While the building and facilities might seem a bit outdated, it’s the service and professionalism that marks it a great hotel. From the minute I stepped into the lobby I felt being taken care of. They helped me when I left my cell phone on the Uber car, they gave me late check out option, arranged restaurant reservation and car service…. I am happy to see that bathroom supplies are in refillable bottles instead of those tiny plastic ones. And the room service meal has good healthy options. ...

"We stayed at Rincón de Puembo on our way to the Galápagos and again when we returned. I highly recommend this hotel. The grounds are beautiful, the food is amazing (have the cold shrimp in a chilled soup), and the service is outstanding. We ate at both restaurants but El Grill with outdoor seating was my favorite. "A beautiful historic hotel, with courtyard where they served a lovely full breakfast, including eggs to order. The location was perfect very close to the historic center. I would advise not staying many blocks more away from the historic center as the neighbourhood changes, but we felt very safe in the day time (with reasonable precautions not flashing wealth).
