"Gate Cottage is even more lovely than the pictures show - spacious and well decorated, and the setting is very peaceful, with a private side and back yard, and another grassy area across a quiet road that leads down to the rocky beach facing the Isle of Bute. The one thing to be aware of for visitors is that there's only a small (but very well stocked) market and a few restaurants, some only open at weekends, right in Kames, so you'll need to bring in most provisions from a supermarket in...

"We loved our stay at the Wee Silverburn! It was the perfect size for our family of 4. Decorated so nicely, very comfortable and relaxing. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking and baking wares and cleaning supplies. The babbling brook just beyond the lush garden plantings completed the lovely setting. The location is wonderful, an easy walk down the beach and other offerings at Whiting Bay. The bus stop is right there too if you want to pop to a pub or two in Lamlash for dinner and drinks....

"A comfy stay for 6 people and a dog with nice views on a very quiet site. Reasonably equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave, induction hob, and a selection of pots and pans. The wood burning stove is cozy, and WiFi/TV all work just fine. Shower has good pressure. Our only minor criticism was the lack of a sponge to do the dishes with, a lack of any bin bags, and a lack of toilet roll. Towels were supplied. There’s a Morrisons 22 minutes away in Dunoon and a premier corner shop 15 minutes...
