"As a family with children aged 10 and 12, we absolutely loved this resort. The pool was invaluable to be able to have time for ourselves to relax as well as the children. Buffet was great and the manager was amazing. Our children loved watching the baby reef sharks swimming next to the jetty out the front of the resort. Would highly recommend to both couples, individuals or families as they offer something for everyone. "

"I loved this unique hotel, it was a tick off the bucket to stay in the rainforest! The staff are so friendly and the food is excellent and great value for money. It is very easy to get to the animal centres and I was still able to access the internet so could order grab taxis. I’d definitely recommend bringing bug spray! 100% would recommend, where else can you stay in the rainforest?!"

"The hotel is in a great location to visit the Orang Utans and Sun Bears. Its a relaxed hotel and the staff are really friendly. The room was spacious and comfortable. The shower was great! Negatives - wifi is hit and miss so card payments not always possible. No ATM nearby but we changed cash at a nearby hotel. Food is sometimes buffet and sometimes a la carte but the staff dont know which it will be in advance so your stuck with what you get offered. It was tasty though. We stayed 4 nights and...

"This was our second stay at the Marion. It's like spending the night at the museum. You can read the history of the original owner if you spend a few minutes at the waterfront Chinese Heritage Museum. The hotel is very close to bars and restaurants on Carpenter St. that can be noisy on occasion. We have stayed in the Chapel wing both stays and we're not bothered by street noise. "The property is basic, but well maintained and food is pretty good mostly. Beer available to buy. No wifi - but you can get a poor connection from receptionist's phone acting as hotspot. Friendly atmosphere. 3 days, 2 nights, equals 4 boat journeys, 1 day walk and 2 night walks. First 2 boat trips were disappointing - didn't see much except same monkeys who hang around camp. 3rd saw orangutans and crocodiles. 4th saw whole herd of pygmy elephants with calves on riverbank and swimming.
