"The Puako neighborhood is quiet with great access to a snorkeling reef teaming with wildlife a young turtles. We watched sunsets over the water and thoroughly enjoyed the proximity to the water. Our accommodations were top notch. The bungalow was cool (lots of ceiling fans) and had everything we needed. It’s well setup for a family of 4 or 2 couples and has everything you need to enjoy Hawaii. "

"We stayed in Hawi for 1 night, The property is well maintained and clean. They have a self check in and out process which is convenient. Also the main door entry to the hotel are number locked so it is very secure. There is a common room with microwave, water dispenser and dining facility. The room had comfortable beds and bathroom was spacious and clean. There is lobby space in front of the rooms with chairs wherein you can relax. There are coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance. On Saturday they had a Farmer's Market right at the Hotel doorstep which was a nice addition. I would recommend this place to stay and will book again."

"This was our second stay at this beautiful property. We stayed for 3 weeks and enjoyed every minute! We had everything we needed at this lovely home. We loved the hot tub especially in the evening when we could star gaze! The sky was beautiful! We were a short drive to Honokaa and played several rounds of golf at the unique golf course (Hamakua country club). Overall, we had the most wonderful time and are planning on returning next year! Mahalo! "

"The three bedroom Red Ohana house was perfect for our group of three adult couples. The house is maintained in excellent condition and was open and available for the easiest check-in we have ever experienced! The house was spacious, for our group of six adults and the kitchen was fully equipped for making everything from breakfast coffee ( three different coffee pots to make regular drip coffee, K cup brewed coffee or French press coffee ) to a full evening meal if desired. "

"What a wonderful property! We enjoyed staying at Red Ohana very much. Our family of 4 fit comfortably in the two bedroom guest house. The parents stayed in the larger bedroom with the king bed (very comfy) and the kiddos (5 and 18m) slept in the smaller room. The smaller room is easy to make dark and cozy for the kiddos. Laura gave us a pack n play for our little one to sleep in. It was perfect.We spent warm evenings on the back porch lounging on the comfy chairs and playing games on the big table. Mornings were spent looking for geckos and checking to see if any avocados fell from the tree! There is a quiet road behind the house for short walks and horses occasionally across the street at the prep school. The backyard is even a great place for a little star gazing if you don’t want to take an after sunset adventure with Littles but still want to experience the beautiful skies.The house was very clean, the towels, linens and dishes were all great quality. We appreciated the variety of coffee making devices and were charmed by the attention to detail the owner had shown to decor (the Tupperware lids even match the red theme!)The location can’t be beat, a great park is just minutes away and you are within a 15-20 min drive to amazing beaches. We loved Spencer Beach and the beach at the Mauna Kea resort (though it’s a bit of a walk)."
