"We arrive around 9:30pm, everywhere pitch black, but the house felt warm and welcoming, right away. After the sunrise we definitely appreciated the views of the house, the grounds and generosity of the owners, regarding the fruits of their orchard, all were great. The outdoor hot tub, and the private sauna were also, delightful and very soothing. The local scene in Honoka'a is limited in terms of things to do, but all around nature is the star. I played/walked the 9hole course in town, and the hilly course took the wind out of me a couple of times. Overall, a great experience, and when we come back we will stay with Marcel and Connie, and Shigecko and Marcus! (apologies if I misspelled Shigecko's name)"

"The location was perfect for our family holiday - close to beaches and outdoor activities and tucked away from hustle and bustle of resort-based communities. The swing in the backyard was a hit with the kids and the view beyond it was amazing. This is a quiet, relaxing and friendly spot steps away from the beach (and turtles), tucked off the road with all the conveniences of being home. "

"This property was simply amazing. We are last minute planners and booked this about 2 weeks before our stay over Thanksgiving 2024. Donna was SO helpful before, during and after our stay. By far the best host I have ever encountered at a vrbo. She even left us a few surprise goodies for our arrival! Completely unexpected and very appreciated! This property had everything we needed to make our Thanksgiving wonderful (besides the groceries or course). It was spacious for our crew of 6 (2 adults, 4 kids under 10), and it also had a pack'n'play and high chair ready and available for us. Check in was seamless. We got in late and had zero issues finding the place or getting in. We opted not to purchase the resort access since there are plenty of other things to do on the island. We did hit the Mauna Kea beach a few times but get there early, the parking lot does fill up fast! Hot tub and pool were perfect for us. There was a book with insutructions on the pool and hot tub, i did have questions on warming up the hot tub but Donna put me in touch with someone who was able to help me with it quickly! Super easy. There was a cooler that we used daily, and some misc beach chairs and toys for the kids. All were very appreciated! Conveniently located near several of the best beaches on the island. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to the big island. "
