"We had a great time here! Everything was as advertised. We arranged with the rental company to get picked up at the ferry terminal with our luggage. The private dock was great, we loved the paddle boards and saw some rays and even a dolphin from the boards right off the dock. We rented bikes from the rental company for the week and that was very handy, we biked all over the island, spent some time at the Split, went in a snorkel tour, fed the tarpons and rays, and just had an amazing time! "

"This property was very quiet and within about 15 minutes drive from the airport. James was very communicative and told us lots about the history of the area and his personal history, which we appreciated. Concerns were that interior doors didn't open all the way, the dish sponge was very old, the refrigerator dispensed water very slowly and I wondered if we should be drinking it, the listing had shown a washer and dryer (which was most probably in the owner's house) and the valve on the shower...

"Our “cottage” was a luxurious, 3-story house with a well-appointed kitchen, rooftop palapa, semi-private dock, swimming pool and wonderful, friendly, helpful staff, all in a relatively quiet neighborhood. Lovely!"

"I am glad I booked 2 nights (instead of 1) before our journey home. Michelle and Scott were excellent hosts and made us feel right at home. From the rooms decorated with her style and the grounds that encompass their vision of a Belezian oasis, we will definitely be back and bring friends to share the experience with. "The property was spacious. All necessities were there. We enjoyed our stay a would recommend it for a place to stay if Belize city needs to be not so far away. I would suggest following the directions to the property precisely. I didn't and had a difficult time finding it because of that reason. "

"We absolutely loved our time here. They recently opened so don't be fooled by the lack of many reviews (December 2014). The rooms are just as advertised and the staff and owners are very nice and extremely helpful. We can't wait to come back!and extremely helpful. "

"The Gecko Bungalow is really something special! Scott and Michelle are incredible hosts -- when one in our party fell ill, they went above and beyond to make sure he was well cared for and comfortable, and they made sure we had everything we needed during our days there. Their hospitality is genuine, and you can see their passion for connecting with their guests. They make it feel like you're visiting them as friends, and aren't "just a customer" renting a room. "Spent 11 days at Seahorse cabana. The unit is as you see in the pics. Very clean they even included shampoo , conditioner & body wash, was welcome. It is right beside the airstrip, but not to bad noise wise. You are a good walk too town, we grab cab's most of the time $5 US, or 10 Belize. We would walk to the (Beach) not really a beach & dock and the chairs & shade were nice. This side of the Island is windy & rougher then the other side. "What's not to like? Super friendly hosts, everything you need...in a quiet part of the island (which is so small that you are lucky to stay in the quiet part). We used the free bikes for all our travel round the island - walking was too hot."

"It was a bit off the beaten path and costly with the ferry back and forth every time you want to go across the split to dine or meet up with tour companies. Come before this side is all built out with resorts! "

"Stayed at The Palms for two days on a recent trip. It's in a safer part of Belize City, and the property is secure, well-kept, and modern. Rooms are spacious and up-to-date, with an attentive and friendly staff. There's a coffee shop around the corner, but you may have to do some walking if you want other food options. I was able to do some urban birding nearby on foot."
