"Lovely Victorian hotel in great location with a steep history. Unfortunately the hotel seems to be in a time warp and not in touch with modern day competition with regards to room quality tv, bed, furnishings. The dining options were extremely close windowed and not flexible. Breakfast was really poor quality with limited choice with many expected food items not bailable or offered. It seemed to be more in line with a seaside bed and breakfast offering rather than what appeared to be a 4 star hotel. We don't regret staying at The Metropole. Just that we were a little disappointed "

"What did we like?...EVERYTHING Stunning location with beautiful views, amazing property taking you back to a more gentler time in days gone by, from the moment you drive down the driveway. The attention to detail in our room was impeccable and there was nothing that the staff wouldn't do for you. For a relaxing break away from the norm I can not recommend this place highly enough. Hubby & I will definitely be going back"

It ended up being a much better option: the staff was lovely, the bar and restaurant was great, and the rooms were nice and comfortable for what we needed. And right by the water and shops around the corner. We would definitely stay here again."
