"Good pub style hotel with a comfortable bed! A bit dated inside the rooms but adequate. Plenty of hot water and free WiFi. Parking is a little tricky due to it’s location."

"Lovely hotel located at the end of Alfriston High Street right behind an ancient church /churchyard. Friendly attentive staff comfortable lounge area and wonderful food. Also spotlessly clean. "

"A lovely countryside stay. The pub is beautiful, a great mix of an old pub with modern design. Everything feels lovely and clean. Huge beds! I would say though, we stayed on a Sunday and the road out the front on the Monday morning was quite noisy (rush hour, bin men and gas refill right outside the window of our room). I doubt the rooms were full with it being a Sunday, so it would have been good if they put us out the back. If you can, request a room at the back of the building! "

"It took ages to check despite the bar being open. My nice but quite small but the general housekeeping could be improved. The basin in the tiny bathroom offered little or no hot water and the shower head was only adequate. The menu choice was disappointing but the food was nice. The Breakfast basket was poor. My overall opinion of the Crown was that it was expensive for what you got. It's not a place that I would return to. "
