"Excellent location, walkable from the train station. Some trouble checking in & room wasn't as described but was sorted out the next day. Most staff were on the ball and very congenial. Food was excellent, afternoon tea was delicious, highly recommend the tea salon in the main restaurant. Lovely area, very historic and close to shopping and dining for a nice walk. "

The signage could do with updating. They are obviously trying to upgrade everything but the room could have had a new lampshade on the room light and pull string in the bathroom. The room wall table could do with a paint or restaining. The wardrobe internal shelf should be painted."

"This property is definitely past it’s prime, the pictures posted in the listing must be from better times. While the owner was friendly the animal smell in the entry hall was very unpleasant. The room was crammed but clean, one of the beds had dog hairs on it. Overall not what we expected to find looking at the listing, but it worked for one night."
