"The property is fantastic and provides a great place to relax by the pool and enjoy the poolside summer house and kitchen. Everything we needed was there and it was spotlessly clean. Sara and her family were very welcoming and available for any assistance. Rome is easily accessible by train with the station only a 15 minute drive from the villa and plenty of free parking. This was the perfect location for visits to Rome and to have a quiet and relaxed out of town base. We would definitely recommend it!"

"The bedroom was nice and clean with AC and a little tv. The bed a very firm queen mattress placed low to the floor. The bathroom was very small with 2 toilets, a sink with a mirror, and a tall/narrow shower. The used towels and the used toilet paper is restocked daily. They do not speak a word of English. The bedding was not replaced once while staying there for 9 days. The door locks were very difficult to use."

"The view from this hotel is breathtaking! Although it is less than an hour from the amenities of Rome, the hotel area is very peaceful and quiet. A strip of amazing restaurants is a short 10 minute walk away and we greatly enjoyed having breakfast on the terrace. "

"My family and I stayed at Il Casale del Gelso for the second leg of our Italian vacation. This farmhouse was truly a retreat, where it was easy to relax and enjoy the beautiful grounds. The kids loved swinging on the tree swing and playing games over the expansive fields. Patrizia and her family was absolutely lovely, very accommodating to any need or question we had, and always available. We communicated frequently via text and she was always responsive, proving great recommendations for local restaurants, grocery stores, etc. We enjoyed our stay, and would absolutely recommend this property for a relaxing stay! All bedrooms and living space are on the first level, the living spaces upstairs are where Patrizia and her family reside-it was so nice to know they were there if anything was needed."

"Free breakfast was amazing. Mini bar prices were a bit steep but I should have checked beforehand. This place is more of a wedding venue than a hotel, so be warned it may be pretty loud during your stay. Parking was fine most nights except for one where the lot was full but the owner was able to accommodate and find a spot for the car. Free breakfast was amazing, and the views were fantastic. Staff was pleasant and helpful. 9/10"

"Hotel Castel Gandalfo has a beautiful view out over the lake. Daniel and the rest of the staff were very helpful in advance and upon arrival. Just a few minutes walk to the Castel Gandalfo train station and a 30 minute ride into the Rome Termini station where you can take a subway to all landmarks. The hotel provides a delicious breakfast too."
