"After having passed through San Pedro de Atacama on the way to the property, we were so pleasantly surprised by the contrast that experience provided. The hustle bustle and dust of SPA was left behind for a quiet lush shaded oasis in the desert. The cooing of doves in the trees greeted us to our home for the next five days. The welcome we received from the staff was superb, and that experience stretched across everyone there. Breakfast was a joy every day, greeted with warm smiles and offers of a wide and completely satisfying spread of tasty foods. The room was spotless, private and oh so quiet and peaceful. The location offers easy access to the town, as well as the wider Atacama area. When we return to the Atacama, Quelana will be our first choice for base of operations. Thank you all!"

"Very friendly staff, made us feel at home. We stayed in one of the new house rooms, comfortable and with a nice terrace. They have 2 pools and plentynof public space in any of the 2 main houses, where you have tea/coffee/juices/water available to you and even kitchen and fridge available to guests. Breakfast with plenty of choices offered from early to 11pm and they can cook eggs for you. Quiet street around 20 kins walk to town. Only suggestion would be to put to work the second (new) jacuzzi and tidy up and maintain regularly thr area around the new larger pool. We really enjoyed our stay and excellent choice in Atacama"

Best for budget

"If you have a car, you cannot get it cheaper for the quality in San Pedro, which is notoriously expensive for the mediocre quality of accommodations. It is quiet, spacious and clean, abd has a reasonably well equipped kitchen. The two rooms, bathroom, and kitchen all lead outside to rhe porch, which can be uncomfortable in winter (it gets cold at night). The heaters provided barely manage to keep the temperature bearable at night. The grounds are shared with a neighbour who periodically goes to tender his horse. The host told us so, but once he arrived at 2 o'clock in the morning, which frightened us. The hostvis very accommodating and communication is good (I don't know if he knows English). Once, the driveway was flooded as the irrigation channel overflowed. Otherwise, a good budget option in San Pedro if you have a car."

Excellent hostel in San Pedro de Atacama

"Hostal San Pedro is a nice place, I plan on returning early next year. The owners are very friendly, the property is kept clean, it's a secure and safe place. The shared kitchen has everything one needs to cook, the property has some common areas to relax or eat in. I appreciated that our room had a small refrigerator. Everything is within walking distance - less than 5 minutes to the bus station, 10 minutes from the main area where all the travel agencies are. "
