"Booked an oceanfront suite. Staff was very welcoming at check in. Suite was beautiful with wonderful views of the beach and water! Cons - outdated furniture. -the pillows smelt old too - always hosting different meetings. Wasnt really a problem for us because we were out all the time, but most of the restaurants would be blocked off for conferences alot while we were there -alot of lizards and other bugs and critters around -the resort photographers were terrible. "Good hotel & good location close to downtown Patong. Plus: large room & useful balcony to get your clothing dried. 2 restaurants, 1 bar with a view, fruit shop, spa. Breakfast was amazing: huge amount of variety of food. 2 big pools, one with a view, one with a slide. Sports facility & fitness courses provided. Drawbacks: steep slope to get to the rooms uphill but shuttle provided. "

"It was a property where we could truly experience the renowned reputation of Banyan Tree, and the accommodation we stayed in satisfied every member of our family. The friendly service of the staff left a lasting impression. One thing to note is that I had read in several blog reviews that, when choosing a dinner course at the Saffron restaurant, there would be options for appetizers or desserts. However, on the day of our visit, only a fixed menu was served. I wasn’t aware that this had changed....

"Beautiful property right on the ocean. Very friendly staff. Great service. Excellent food. Just great views from every spot. We had a private pool in our villa - one evening we were drinking Champagne in a regular tall glass by the pool, didn’t bother to request a flute. Next day, our housekeeper noticed that and brought us flutes without us asking- that’s called service!!"

"This was our first trip to Thailand and this island was recommended to us. Since there aren't many options on the island in terms of hotels, we chose this one. Big mistake. The location is not bad, could have the potential of a great hotel...but: - the staff barely speaks English and it's a real challenge to get anything done - there's a 3% surcharge if you pay by card, which was not specified anywhere in the booking confirmation email - the room was decrepit. There was a rusty folding bed...

"We got to the hotel early around 1. Check in was at 3 so we decided to grab lunch and wait. When check-in arrived they still didn’t have our room ready and we had to wait another hour before they upgraded our room for us. After the frustration was over, when we walked in the room it was absolutely stunning. View was amazing. There’s not a lot of things to do around the hotel. You’ll need to take a taxi to the old town. But the hotel itself is very peaceful. "

"Adored and loved the Spa and staff. Made my stay wonderful. Loved the location and shuttle to the beach. Location to town…. Pretty much a great hotel with lots of family fun. The only bad part is their internet, which is spotty and is closer to dialup internet days. Their pillows are firm, if you like those, you are in heaven… Great place, i would definitely stay there again"

"The view from room was amazing, room was cleaned and had the amenities I needed. Staff did seemed a bit overwhelmed when checking in customers room. We did have to wait until the rooms were ready but overall staying there was amazing! "

"I enjoyed my 4-day stay here so much, i extended my stay for 6 extra days. The restaurant upstairs has great food and makes great alcoholic drinks. The view from the pool area is great. Theres bikes to rent on the property. The rooms are beautiful and you can use their app to schedule full hotel room cleaning service which includes vacuuming and mop. "We stayed here for 4 days. The room was big and clean, the staff provided amenities such as water upon check-in. Great walkable location close to beach as well as boardwalk. The staff here were very helpful with any questions we had. Also, motorbike rental directly in front of the hotel was quite convenient "

Quiet retreat steps from patong beach

"Stayed in the upper one bedroom suite so we used the upper pool and dining area for breakfast. The view and service area as fantastic. I think this was the best pool of the 3. Booked to have quiet but walking distance for night life. This place delivered that. The staff was so attentive. I called this the chutes and ladder resort given it was on the side of a mountain. Being driven up to our room was a must even though we are fit. I am not sure how easily accessible the lower level rooms are. There sure were a lot of stairs. So be aware. Breakfast and happy hour were included which was nice and the food good. Also the private beach was small and not useable (imo) so we borrowed towels and rented2 chairs for $200bath on paying beach. "

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel was amazing and our room (Tropicana Superior) was lovely and very spacious. Pool areas were relaxing, clean and always managed to get a sunbed. The staff were hard working and very friendly, always happy to help. Good range of food to choose fromat breakfast. Great location, close to main restaurants and Karon Beach, which is also very nice. Plenty of sunbeds for hire"
