"Had a wonderful stay in November for a group of four. Just a short walk to the dunes in a quiet marina setting. The house has a well stocked kitchen with ample work space (only lacks a dishwasher). Very comfortable dining and living areas with a fantastic jukebox phonograph (also with BT, CD and Aux). Two of the three bedrooms were tight and there was only one closet with a clothes rod, but there there were lots drawers. The third bedroom was spacious and has a potbelly stove, though it wasn't...

"Place is much bigger than it looks in the photos. Nicely set up outside of town. I almost gave the overall rating 4 stars because the beds were very soft. I prefer firm, but I’m also a very sensitive sleeper, so that may not be the case for others. It is as very clean and quiet. Host was an excellent communicator! "

"This is a drive away from town but so worth it! Fickle Hill will forever be an inside joke to us now. The property is just stunning, and Phil and Jeanie’s whimsy is so awe inspiring. Perfect host, clear rules, cozy cabin and a great place to rest. Thank you! "

"I wanted to take a bath so I got a couple of the Clorox wipes to wipe down the bath tub. The first swipe I did came up with debris and hair. It grossed me out, so I decided to take a shower. The water lapped at my ankles because there was so much hair clogging the drain!! Then I dropped something behind the nightstand and found tons of dust there. Looked clean, but was only clean in the middle. "

"Jane’s Creek Cottage was very comfortable for my husband and I. The patio area would have been perfect for afternoon wine. However, it was cool and damp while we were in Arcata so maybe we can enjoy the patio next time. The location was great for running errands in town. "
