"You are staying on a boat on land however it was modernised with flushing toilets and hot water and heating. Hosts Lynette and Angus were lovely and could not do enough for us, loved our welcome treats and nice touches throughout the boat. Perfect for a couple with medium size dog. Easy access to the Ferries to Bute/ Tarbert and Dunoon ..Andrew , our host was very helpful and made our stay memorable.We used a wheelchair and his concrete ramp was ideal for entering and leaving this spacious property. Would recommend this quiet location overlooking loch Riddon. "

"The cottage is cosy, clean and very inviting. Shiskine is a wonderful place to stay, quiet and very appealing. It's very close to Blackwaterfoot, which is beautiful. The Kinloch Hotel does marvellous meals (takeaways too). What really makes the stay worthwhile is the landlady, Jan. Last year, when we couldn't get off the island due to ferry problems, Jan put us up for an extra with no charge. "This place is for people who love peace and quiet and privacy, we do. Noise from the road is almost minimal, perhaps if you sit in the front garden but we spent all time in the back garden watching sunrises, ships passing by, listening to bird songs early morning, fishing from the private beach. "This property is a dump!! When we arrived it had not been cleaned from the previous rental. It is in a run down neighborhood in a run down building with many steps from the street to the unit. The bathroom was in poor condition aside from the cleanliness issue. Find something else, you have been warned!!"
