"The cottage is cosy, clean and very inviting. Shiskine is a wonderful place to stay, quiet and very appealing. It's very close to Blackwaterfoot, which is beautiful. The Kinloch Hotel does marvellous meals (takeaways too). What really makes the stay worthwhile is the landlady, Jan. Last year, when we couldn't get off the island due to ferry problems, Jan put us up for an extra with no charge. "You are staying on a boat on land however it was modernised with flushing toilets and hot water and heating. Hosts Lynette and Angus were lovely and could not do enough for us, loved our welcome treats and nice touches throughout the boat. Perfect for a couple with medium size dog. "Fantastic property to stay in. Perfect for us going with friends, as it meant we had the cottage with 2 bedrooms for 1 family of 4 and then the out house with a further 2 bedrooms and bathroom for the other family. Stunning views, everything you need for a lovely cozy holiday. took part in the New Year's dip just a few minutes walk away at the Kames hotel beach all of us which was fun. . "Gate Cottage is even more lovely than the pictures show - spacious and well decorated, and the setting is very peaceful, with a private side and back yard, and another grassy area across a quiet road that leads down to the rocky beach facing the Isle of Bute. The one thing to be aware of for visitors is that there's only a small (but very well stocked) market and a few restaurants, some only open at weekends, right in Kames, so you'll need to bring in most provisions from a supermarket in...

"We loved our stay at the Wee Silverburn! It was the perfect size for our family of 4. Decorated so nicely, very comfortable and relaxing. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking and baking wares and cleaning supplies. The babbling brook just beyond the lush garden plantings completed the lovely setting. The location is wonderful, an easy walk down the beach and other offerings at Whiting Bay. The bus stop is right there too if you want to pop to a pub or two in Lamlash for dinner and drinks....

"The Shelduck cottage is a excellent base for exploring this scenic part of Scotland. Easy access to the Ferries to Bute/ Tarbert and Dunoon ..Andrew , our host was very helpful and made our stay memorable.We used a wheelchair and his concrete ramp was ideal for entering and leaving this spacious property. Would recommend this quiet location overlooking loch Riddon. "
