"Budget friendly with friendly owner Yu, who was a spring of information on travelling around Bangkok and other places in Thailand. It was like living in a hospitable local's house. Appreciated the rooftop with free coffee and tea. The hostel is within walking distance to the Grand Palace, and then from there it's an easy walk to Wat Po, then a river crossing to Wat Arun. Close to the Phra Arthit ferry station so the farther destinations are accessible by express boat on the Chao Phraya...

"Dang Derm is right in the middle of Khaosan Road so if you want to be slap bang in the thick of the thumping nightlife then it’s ideal. The blaring music is audible from your hotel room and goes on until 4am so be prepared for that. But if chaotic, fascinating, loud and relentless is your thing then it’s the place to stay. There’s a pool on the roof if you want to take a break from it all and cool off from the sun and humidity. The room was comfortable and the staff friendly, helpful and spoke...

"If you're staying on this street you should already know there's going to be partying and loudness until late hours. Even with all the noise, the room is fairly quiet. I did not have any problems sleeping. Overall the property and room are clean and comfortable. The staff is nice and friendly. The first night I got in late and just needed something to eat so I ordered room service. The food can be a lot better."

"Nice hostel. Very spacious. Shared room had washroom. Laundry on top floor. Kind of far from everything but had some nice restaurants around. No elevator or ac in the common area so was a hot walk up to the 3rd floor. Balcony in common area was nice!"
