"The volcano house is a very charming hotel. It’s not fancy but it’s what you would expect from a national Park Lodge. The food was excellent in the dining room. Service was great. We had a little wait for dinner, about two hours, but that’s because the volcano had erupted that day, and there were lots of people there. But we finally were able to be squeezed in, and that was without a reservation. The rooms are not fancy, very basic, but very comfortable and have everything you need. There are lots of hiking trails outside on the property. We have the exciting experience of watching Kilauea erupt. There are a couple gift shops and. A visitors center across the street. We had a very nice time."

"We had an amazing stay at this VRBO! The location was perfect—just outside of Hilo, offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere while still being close to everything we needed. It was the ideal spot to unwind after a day of exploring.The owners were absolutely lovely and a pleasure to talk to. They made us feel so welcome from the start, even greeting us with a cute surfboard welcome sign. It was such a thoughtful touch. They also gave us great recommendations on local activities and informed us about the erupting volcano—something we hadn’t been aware of. Seeing the eruption ended up being the highlight of our trip. It was a true bucket list experience we’ll never forget!The room was spotless and well-maintained, providing everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Parking was easy and convenient, which was a huge plus. They even provided snorkeling gear and beach equipment, saving us the hassle of renting and making our beach days even better.This place truly made our vacation. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-located stay in the area!"

"Our family of 3 loved our stay at the guesthouse. The house was very clean and comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked for cooking. We enjoyed the view from the lanai over the lush property. Our daughter especially loved feeding the koi fish and chasing frogs."
