"Room was very comfortable. Water pressure was fantastic. Slept well. Good central location. We walked to everything. Ended up walking to the main Kyoto station which is an aporoximate 25 minute walk by a cool temple. Found plenty of great food."

"Fully booked and great value for the price charged. Not a 5 star hotel but for the price it is extremely great. Free breakfast and dinner has tiny portions but great flavours. Introduced me to my new favourite condiments. I am a healthy eater so salad and vegetables were all you can eat and pleantiful. The only thing I did not like was all vegetables were cold but I simply soaked them in hot water I. The bowl and drained it a few times. Seating is tight but works. If you are picky you will complain about something but the same can be said no matter where you stay. Our bathroom was a bit uriny smelling but the Japanese toilet seat was great. Rooms in Japan are tight and small and this is no exception. These Japanese rooms make cruise ship rooms feel big. Anyway I would recommend this place and would stay again"

"We spent 10 nights for 2025 Sakura 28 March to 7 April -- trip of a dream come true -- and the Cross Hotel was a star of the stay. Location between a canal street and a main street gave the perfect spot to see cherry blossoms from the ample lobby common area and direct access to the major markets right across the street. Breakfast was fabulous - even my picky eater spouse enjoyed each morning (of course the neighboring bakery was a treat too). Gion is a scant 10 minute walk and there is direct access to the major riverfront at the end of the street where you can stroll for miles in the calm nature inside the bustling charm of Kyoto. Loved this hotel - and will stay here again."

"We had a great stay at Nohga hotel! The hotel is conveniently located about an 8 minute walk from the train station, and walking distance from Kiyomizu temple and the famous Sanenzaka and Ninenzaka streets. The hotel has a modern organic style, cute lobby with bakery that was always bustling, and a great rooftop bar with great cocktails and views. Every staff member was extremely polite and friendly, and the service was top notch. Our room was on the smaller side but was thoughtfully laid out and had everything we needed and was very clean, and it was enough space to open our luggage which is more than many Japanese hotels. Highly recommend if you are looking for a great place to stay in Kyoto!!"

"This hotel was very clean and wonderfully located directly across the Kyoto train station. It had a friendly staff and located near a shopping and restaurants. However, the restaurants below the hotel were not the greatest. But, loved the Hotel. "

"When arriving, not only was the lobby beautiful with a view - but the staff was very friendly and even upgraded us to a bigger room without asking! The room itself was VERY spacious, clean, the bathroom and shower area was so nice - they had everything you could possibly need (ie toothbrush/toothpaste, brush, facial products, shower products, hair dryer, etc). I’ve found beds in Japan are never comfy but these were actually better than other hotels. The room view was so pretty. I have nothing bad to say, I will absolutely be staying here again if I come back to Kyoto!"
