"There are many of tourist groups with guide and quite noisy at the lobby in the morning. I paid for bf but couldn’t get the proper table and seat because of group tour reservations. Even they didn’t come down and empty table. We have to sit wiggly table and squeeze each other. However the family room was really fun and nice"

"Great location, comfortable bed. It is cramped, but it’s a hostel after all. I’d stay again if I return to Tokyo. I needed assistance checking in and was not able to reach a staff member at the phone number provided. Fortunately one of the travelers in our group figured out a solution. I was disappointed in the lack of customer service."

Juyoh Hotel - Hostel

2.0 star property
8.4 out of 10, Very Good, (376)
"This is my first time visiting Tokyo and Juyoh was my first hotel/hostel stay. What a great first impression of Japanese hospitality. Juyoh is located in Taito City, which is a charming and quieter area north of Ginza. The room is modestly sized with a tatami style sleeping mat and cushion, which is quite comfortable for people who are minimalists, a sleeping style called "shikibuton." There is no TV. Only a floor desk. The bathroom is shared but is very clean. There are showers and toilets on...

A16HOSTELTOKYO - Hostel

2.0 star property
8.4 out of 10, Very Good, (15)
"I loved A16. It is an ideal spot to start a trip to Tokyo. It was very easy to get to, coming from Narita Airport and there are LOTS of good, cheap dining options within a very short walk. While not necessarily the closest place to tourist spots, it is very close to Asakusa-bashi train station, making it very easy to get around Tokyo. The surrounding area is foot traffic friendly and there's plenty to see, (the entire suburb is sprinkled with bead/ jewellery making supply shops which was a...

"cool hostel, the workers are really great, helpful and nice. The shower room smells a bit moldy, so just keep that in mind. They do have a nice kitchen area with a tv, if u just need a place to crash its okay. my pillowcase was not clean thank god i had brought my own. Had to pay 200 yen for a towel. All in all okay hostel"

Ace Inn Shinjuku - Hostel

2.0 star property
5.4 out of 10, (13)
"Literally avoid this hotel at all costs. There was literal blood in the showers, most of the guests were American and of course, they're very loud obnoxious and selfish. In the capsule room they were walkinf with shoes on, speakinf loudly at 7am and so on. I feel bad for the manager working because she did her best but what can you do with selfish tourists?"

"Location was really fabulous for first timers in Tokyo! Anything you need was there. It was clean and staff really friendly. Some great restaurants nearby (Kinka was a fave- make reservations). The secret 7-11 up the road to your left when you exit the hotel has the smoothie machine!!!! We had come from Osaka and Kyoto, so in a way I wish we had booked a less busier place to stay (maybe GINZA or Akasaka)- but that is no fault of the hotel. The room was VERY TINY- which is fine. However, the...
